We had the pleasure of welcoming our Erasmus+ team from Finland to the Czech Republic on 1 February 2026. The visiting group consisted of two teachers and ten students, marking another important milestone in our ongoing international cooperation.
The program commenced with the delegation’s hotel check-in, followed by an introductory tour of Prague. This initial activity provided an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with the local environment and begin building intercultural connections in an informal setting.
The following day featured a joint session with SGAGY students, facilitated by our teachers, Mr. Phanuel Osweto and Mr. Jiří Kuchler. The week-long program was structured around the central theme:
“European Union – Unity and Diversity.”
Mr. Osweto led the academic component focusing on the European Union, encouraging dialogue on shared values, cultural diversity, and cooperation within Europe. Mr. Kuchler oversaw program logistics and coordinated sports and team-building activities, ensuring a balanced schedule that combined learning with active engagement.
SGAGY students played an integral role in the success of the program. Beyond active participation, they demonstrated exceptional initiative by:
Their contribution significantly enhanced the overall experience and fostered a strong sense of partnership between both teams.
The week featured a diverse and dynamic agenda, including:
This comprehensive program blended academic exploration with experiential learning and cultural exchange.
The Czech Finnish Erasmus program proved to be highly engaging and action-packed, leaving a lasting impression on SGAGY students and, undoubtedly, on our Finnish partners as well. The initiative not only strengthened international relationships but also reinforced the values of unity, cooperation, and diversity that define the European Union.
At the conclusion of the program, our students shared the following reflections:
At first, I was very nervous to welcome our Finnish friends here in the Czech Republic and how would their experience compare to ours in Finland. But everything went well and I think everyone did a fantastic job in preparing everything and I have a feeling they enjoyed it too. I will be looking forward to our next meeting the next time we meet them
I really enjoyed when the Finnish students came to our school. It was nice to show them around our school and seeing them again.
We showed the Finns what our school looks like and how our school system works, we took them around Kladno and showed them beautiful monuments in Prague. We also worked with them on projects that were about the European Union, and we learned interesting and new information thanks to them.
Erasmus in Finland was very beneficial for me and I liked it there. I was impressed by their modern teaching, the approach of the teachers and the friendly atmosphere at school. I improved my English, got to know a new culture and gained more independence. In addition, the Finns were also here in the Czech Republic, so we could show each other how our schools and everyday life work. I would recommend the Erasmus program, because it gives you some new experiences and friends.
My Erasmus was fun. At first, I was nervous about speaking English, but later I felt more confident. I met new friends and learned about a different culture. When the students came to our country, I enjoyed showing them our school and city. It was fun spending time together and it made our friendship stronger.
The visit of the Finnish students to our country was a very pleasant experience. It was nice to show them our culture and the places where we live and to spend more time together. Erasmus gave me new friendships, more confidence, and great memories. I am grateful that I could be part of this project.
I am very grateful that I could be part of the Erasmus program in Finland. It was an amazing experience, and I would like to thank everyone who made it possible. I was also happy that I could show them our life here in the Czech Republic. I am especially thankful that I made new friends there and created memories I will never forget.
It was a really nice week spend with them and showing them around Kladno and our school. I enjoyed it a lot and I hope to experience Erasmus again.
